Concerning Google

Hello Friends! It's been a busy time and I have some cool projects that I'm looking forward to share with you soon... BUT! I had to make an important change for the background work of my site recently that might effect some of you, so I wanted to make a quick post and explain everything going on.

So to start, I've been around just about two years now, and over that time I've gotten access to better ways to send out patterns when it comes to giveaways, a few of which I've participated in over that time. I started out relying heavily on my google documents account, since that made it easy to pull up a digital pattern at physical events to have something to work on, as well as it making things easy to share for the previously mentioned giveaways. More recently, however, Google has started talking about letting AI scan the databases of users to learn - databases including google document accounts. I still have to move my pictures over, but as of a few days ago I've transferred my pattern write ups off of google documents, to protect my intellectual property from theft.

Why is this important to you? Here's the thing, since I shared my patterns through google documents and drive, bringing it off of that platform might prevent you from accessing it that way. So if you happen to go to use your pattern and find yourself stuck this way, please reach out, I will verify your earlier participation in the event and send you a direct download link via email to remedy the issue.

I'm truly sorry if this ends up being a problem for anyone, the rampant corporate unethical use of AI has been becoming more and more of a problem for all sorts of creatives, and I hope to avoid any further issues of this ilk. I hope you're all happy and healthy, and have two fun creature creations coming to the blog soon, with patterns to follow!
