Upcoming Fun!

Writer's picture: LaurenLauren

I've been quite the busy bee of late, and that's all to bring some fun new things to all of you!

First and foremost, yesterday I had the pleasure of dropping off my first piece for an art exhibition at a local studio, Aston Mills Arts. Yurick the blood snail is an original creation and will be the first of many, hopefully coming out in time for the big event I'm taking part in in January, with a pattern to follow as well.

Yurick is to be part of an exhibit called 100 Skulls, which opens this weekend (friday, 10/5) and the studio will have open hours each week through October - and best of all, every piece on display is for sale! So if you're into some skull and bone based art, that's the place to find it. (for more information, see here )

But that's not all that's coming up in October! This month I will be a vendor at two fantastic board game conventions, DelCon in Upper Darby (10/5-10/6) and Beers and Meeples in Exton (10/29). DelCon is a small convention with a lot of fun packed into the halls that host it, this year with some 1E D&D to play along side a variety of other games available for free play or run by the con for your enjoyment (for more, see here ). Beers and Meeples is another fun gaming event, this time held up in Exton at the Stolen Suns Brewery, and right before Halloween for added fun! For up to date info on that event, see here .

The last event I currently have planned in the next little bit of time is actually in the beginning of the new year, the Philadelphia Area Gaming Expo, which will be held at the convention center at Oaks, up by King of Prussia. This is by far the largest I will have had the opportunity to participate in, and I'm working hard to put out a good showing. (for up to date info and tickets, see here). It's been a joy becoming part of the local gaming community, especially meeting and making friends with the other vendors. They do incredible work and are amazing people to boot. If you're interested in seeing other vendors that will be at some of the events I frequent, check out Dicey Situations, Quest's End Trays, Red Duke Games, and Fiat Lucre.

Last but not least, upcoming fun creations from me! Yurick is a great starter, but the more practical offering of this fall has me very excited. All of us who play fantasy based games are familiar with the variety of jelly and slime based creatures that frequent dark dungeons in them, and in my mind something that absorbs everything it touches sounds like a perfect dice bag, so coming this fall is my newest creation, the hefty Jelly Mould of Doom dice bag! They will come in a variety of flavors and elements, and I'm hoping to have them up for sale by December, and definitely present for the Expo in January. These large bags are about 6 inches squared, so plenty of room for even the biggest dice dragon, and are my first lined bag. The lime green version is pictured below, for a fun sneak peek!

I hope this fall is a fun time for everyone, and I'd love to see you at some of my future events! Check back for updates soon, and Happy Fall!
